Families within our Spiritual Family
Your San Cayetano story matters to us

The Silva Family
My name is María Silva, and I have been married for 35 years. I have two daughters and one granddaughter, and I have been a catechist at St. Cajetan Church for 26 years. One day I told Jesus that if I had the opportunity to feel His presence, I would follow Him forever, and He granted that to me during an initiation retreat. Since then, I have loved speaking to children about Jesus so that they too may learn to know Him and love Him.
When my oldest daughter, Mayra, was eight years old, I enrolled her in religious education. I liked catechism so much that God called me to be a catechist, and from that moment on I decided that this was what I wanted to dedicate myself to—that this was my calling: to speak to all children about God, so that more and more children would come to know and love Him. Mayra received her sacraments, and when she grew up, she also became a catechist for the youngest children, between five and six years old.
I have been a catechist for 26 years, and that is what I love most. I have been a catechist to my nephews and nieces, to the children of friends and acquaintances, and I have made great friendships with mothers of children who, when I see them on the street, greet me affectionately. It brings me so much joy to see so many children whom I taught catechism now receiving their First Communion. When I see them, I say to myself, “I taught those children catechism,” and it is very moving to think that I was their catechist and that they are now receiving Jesus in their hearts, and that I was an instrument God placed in their path so that they could have Jesus within them.
I am grateful for the help of my husband Efraín, because while I attended catechism, he took care of our daughters when they were little. I was also the catechist of our younger daughter, Abigail; she is the miracle God sent me to accompany Mayra, and now she is already in her second year as a catechist as well. It is a great blessing that they are also willing to serve God and that they follow the example their father and I have taught them, as we try to guide them along the right path.
I hope in God that He grants me the opportunity to become a catechist for my grandchildren, because I want to serve God forever. It is a way of giving back a little of how much God gives me. It is a pleasure to serve at St. Cajetan Church and to be a catechist.

The Fuentes-Pineda Family
We are the family of Oscar Fuentes and Marina Pineda, from the country of Honduras.
We have lived here in Denver since 2019. We are parents of five children—three girls and two boys. In July 2019, we became part of St. Cajetan Church. In 2020, our children Lensy, Katherin, and Oscar began serving as altar servers at the 9:00 a.m. Mass every Sunday. Currently, in addition to serving at Mass, they are also members of the youth group.
In 2021, my wife Marina joined the choir that sings at the 9:00 a.m. Mass every Sunday. In 2022, I, Oscar, began serving as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at the same Mass; likewise, I also serve at the 4:30 p.m. Mass every Sunday. Currently, I serve as part of the team of servers in the Evangelizing Renewal group.
In 2025, Aslhy and Josué began serving as altar servers at the 9:00 a.m. Mass every Sunday.
As a father, I feel very happy, blessed, and grateful to God to have the opportunity for my entire family to serve God together in our Parish of St. Cajetan. Thank you, blessings!

The Muneton Family
It was November of 1989 when my wife Lucy and I, Valente Muneton, arrived with our two sons, Daniel and Nathanael, in Denver, Colorado, coming from Corona, California. We began attending the 12:00 p.m. Sunday Mass, where we were warmly welcomed by the community. The Theatine Fathers, Father Jaime Phohens and Father Tomás, included us in all the parish projects, and we began serving in several parish ministries. With their support, we also started helping other parishes in the Archdiocese of Denver. Later, our two daughters, Daniela and Yadira, were born. We continued in our parish ministries, supporting various social activities and, above all, spiritual ones.
Lucy, Valente, Daniela, and Yadira continue to this day supporting our St. Cajetan community, as well as other communities in different parishes of our Archdiocese of Denver and other dioceses as missionaries. We are grateful to the St. Cajetan community, which has been so generous and has supported Valente especially in being able to travel to other states and countries to bring the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our entire family is grateful to our priests—Father Ángel, Father Israel—and to the whole St. Cajetan community for being so kind and generous to us, the Muneton family.

The Molina-Escorza Family
On this occasion, we would like to introduce the Molina Escorza family. They arrived several years ago from Ignacio Zaragoza, Chihuahua. Although they came with a suitcase full of hopes for work, they never abandoned their faith. They met and formed a beautiful family, and over time, they went from being Sunday Catholics to fervently deepening their principles of faith in our Lord and their love for the ever Virgin Mary, particularly under the devotion of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
It was around the year 2018 when she began catechumenate classes and he began preparation for Confirmation. That time was, without a doubt, when they began to respond to God’s call to serve Him.
Today, they coordinate the Renacimiento Evangelizador group, which meets every Thursday from 7 to 9 PM (everyone is invited!). They serve with their children as Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, also participate in the ministry of Proclaimers of the Word (Lectors), and they coordinate the 4:30 PM Sunday Mass. In addition, they are 100% involved in all parish activities and serve as catechists. Dalia works in our office, and without a doubt, they are a family we can always count on.
As the Parish of St. Cajetan, we feel blessed that Clover Molina, Dalia Escorza, Nayeli Molina, and Fernando Molina are part of our spiritual family.

The Sanchez Family
We are Luis and Maribel Sanchez, and we have two daughters, Elizabeth and Samantha. We’ve been part of San Cayetano for over thirty years. I came to this parish as a child and gradually became involved in the community. When I joined the youth group coordinated by the Sisters of the Charity of Mary Immaculate, I felt the calling to serve as a lector and Extraordinary Minister of the Word. Luis joined the parish as well and began serving as a reader and minister while we were still dating. We were married in this parish in 1995, and later, in 2003, we made a Christian initiation retreat. We became part of the Young Adults for Christ group, where we deepened our understanding of our Catholic faith. This experience later helped us start the Worldwide Marriage Encounter group with other couples from the parish. Through Marriage Encounter, we have learned to value and understand the sacrament of marriage and the priestly life. When our daughters were little, they were members of the children’s choir, and as they grew up, they continued participating in the choir until last year. Today, we also serve as catechists. We thank God for all the blessings He has given us through being part of this community, and also for the challenges that have helped us value and grow in our faith.
